A Lesson In Letting Go During The New Moon In Cancer

Tomorrow, we celebrate the New Moon in Cancer. It marks a new beginning for me of epic proportions.

The synchronicity of the Universe was just amazing. My friend Martin sent me this photo yesterday that described this New Moon in Cancer so appropriately.  The watery element of the New Moon was like a swelling of emotions from within me.  These emotions had been bubbling just under the surface, waiting to burst through, only to do so when I confronted my past hurts yesterday.   I believed that the Universe had intended to wash me with these waters of my past so that I could come out from the pool cleansed and ready to serve my purpose.

This New Moon in Cancer was particularly special for me because the Universe devised a wonderful plan to teach me an invaluable lesson about myself. I learnt to let go off aspects of the past that bound me to emotional insecurities, the need to always obtain validation and the fear of the unknown. I was forced to confront such useless energies last night.

Here was what had happened.

Caught Up With A Past Filled With Anger And Resentment

Yesterday evening, I parked my car at the building at which I had worked some 7 years ago. I was about to join my husband and my son for a drink to celebrate having crossed mid-week without having to throw a shoe at anyone at the office.   At the lift lobby, I bumped into an ex-boss who had caused me 2 years of immense depression and a lifetime of hypertension issues because I did not agree with his management style. I bristled in anger the minute I saw him and stomped out of the building in tears when memories of all that hurt and disappointment came flooding back in that instant. A tiny voice buzzed menacingly in my head then, attempting to convince me of how bad a marketeer I must have been, or how useless an employee I might have been that caused the rift between him and I.

Grateful For A Present Filled With Abundance

My husband bounded me off into the car to comfort me and promptly turned on the car radio.  When I heard Andrea Boccelli's magical voice, I suddenly remembered the new life I had created after resigning from that job.  Today, I lead a marketing communications team for a company that I truly enjoyed working at everyday. I felt privileged to have bosses and colleagues who inspired me and who accepted and appreciated my skills.  I built  a successful business doing Tarot, Numerology and Astrology readings that allowed me to guide my clients through their issues using my intuitive skills. My family gave me immense love and support. I was on the road towards regaining back my health and fitness. I felt so much abundance.  It was as if, I had finally come home to myself.

Tapping On My Inner Queen Of Cups

I meditated on the Tarot Card that represented Cancer - the Queen of Cups.  The Queen was emotionally-charged, sometimes she needed to learn to balance heart and head.  She was a dreamer, who had to make special efforts to ensure that she could discern between illusion and reality.  Her highly intuitive nature guided her to navigate difficult situations introspectively.  When I came face to face with past negative energies of anger and resentment, I forced the Queen of Cups in me to  balance my emotions around what was in the now, and what had happened in the past; what energies I deemed as useless so that I could let them go and what lessons I could learn from them; the illusion of my ex-boss' dislike of me and the reality that he did not give a toss what had happened between us then, so many years ago.

I was led by the Universe to put my hand into the bag of seeds of past anger, resentment and sadness. I gave myself permission to be angry for awhile, then sprinkled these seeds of past negative energies onto the ground so that they could be healed by the cleansing earth energy in preparation for my growth.

Planting Seeds Of Joy This New Moon

If I was not forced to step out of my comfort zone at that point when I could not get along with that ex-boss 7 years ago, I would not have found this life of abundance! When I started to think back about what I had learnt when I was caught in the middle of that career cross-road, I realized those lessons were well-leveraged when I guided my clients who went through similar situations.  I became a better manager, a better friend, a better mentor, a better wife, and a better mum because of what I had been through.  My experience taught me that only I could plant my own seeds of joy, success, fulfillment and abundance.

I felt immense gratitude for that experience with my ex-boss. I could finally let it all go. And I let it go with love.

So this New Moon in Cancer was a lesson for me in letting go of what was holding me down and not serving me anymore so that I could birth new strength and courage to create a better life, gain new knowledge and perspectives, and serve my purpose that was meant to be.

Happy New Moon In Gemini

Blessed New Moon!  This new moon in Gemini promises to make you itch with mental restlessness as you embark on new projects or start nurturing new creative ideas or venture towards the beginning of a new job or new relationship.  You will be embracing these with so much energy and enthusiasm, charging ahead in a gung-ho manner with numerous ideas and grand plans.

This week, many of my intuitive readings veered on clearing past relationship issues or dealing with an impasse in a current relationship.  If you are experiencing either of these,  do know that since Mars in Libra is direct now, this new moon in Gemini only serves to force you to go beyond that mental restlessness to actually doing something about it.  Remember, if you want to move forward, you cannot  just be all thinking and all talk, but you will need to take action too!

Now, this is where I have to inject a caution driven from my personal theme for this year that I keep harping about. Yes, BALANCE.  You need balance.  You see, Mercury is going retrograde in the next week. It will span from 7 June to 2 July.  So, it might be worthwhile for you to set new intentions during this new moon to manifest your goals by lending them all the enthusiasm and energy that you have, yet navigate towards these goals with plans that come from balancing logical thought with an intuitive heart.

Reset Your Intentions This New Moon To Deal With Another Retrograde

New Moon In Pisces

1 March 2014.  The new moon enters Pisces to allow you to re-calibrate your thoughts, dreams and ideas so that you may set new intentions or chart new directions to your goals.  This new moon forces you to step back, do some quiet soul-searching and reconnect with your spiritual self.   This is much needed particularly if you had come off a difficult period during the Mercury Retrograde in the last few weeks.  As Pisces is governed by the emotional tide of the Water element, use this period of meditative silence and introspection to shore up spiritual and emotional energy needed to turn your creative ideas and inspirations into viable action plans that can help you manage challenges in the horizon.

Mars Goes Retrograde

Yes challenges would not leave you just yet in spite of Mercury going direct now.  This is because Mars will be stationing in retrograde, a phenomena  that happens every two years or so.   Mars with its fiery and aggressive energy promises to drag the challenges on for you by bringing out these same fiery emotions from within you.  Be prepared to get particularly piss off with the most insignificant things, snap at your unsuspecting partner, or start a row with colleagues and bosses who may have differing opinions from you.   That is why you will need to make a conscious effort during this new moon in Pisces to go sit under a Bodhi tree and make friends with your inner self.  Trust me, it will do you a lot of good, and I think it might also prevent you from impulsively saying or doing anything stupid.

"Peace of mind happens to a man only after he has developed deep insight, only after he starts seeing the things in the right perspective." ~ Sama Veda

Day 2 In Numerology

Today is numerologically governed by 2 and thank goodness it is a Saturday!  Finally with the weekend here,  just stay focused on spending quality time with the family and do not forget about taking care of yourself.  With the new moon in Pisces, I would not be surprised  if you had initially let your imagination run wild with thoughts on 1001 ways to spend your weekend.  However, just make sure that the rest of the family concur with your weekend ideas.   To ensure harmony at home today, it is better to just be present and be open to the ideas of the rest of your family members instead of attempting to take the lead and assume that everyone would go along with your weekend plans.  It would be best that with Mars going into retrograde, do try not to create any tension amongst the family members by being stubborn and inflexible.

This new moon is somewhat special  because it gives you plenty of reasons now to set aside some "Me" time in your diary this weekend.  There is no better time to spend time on your own and listen to what your inner self has to say to help prepare you for the challenges of the week ahead.

"Meditation is the tongue of the soul and the language of our spirit." ~Jeremy Taylor

Blessed New Moon And Happy Lunar New Year

New Moon In Aquarius On 30 Jan 2014

The New Moon in Aquarius is at our doorstep.  A New Moon always presents opportunities for new beginnings, and how fantastic that this is the second New Moon in the month of January. Super!

Lunar New Year On 31 Jan 2014

As I have often mentioned, my theme for the year is balance. Balance is important particularly when you prepare to enter the Lunar New Year of the Horse with a hint of restlessness and the need to free yourself from old ways of thinking.

New Beginnings And New Opportunities

With this New Moon in Aquarius, it is a perfect time to create new opportunities and new beginnings for yourself by balancing conventional wisdom with new perspectives.   You would need to balance your lofty ideals with a practical plan.  You are also urged to balance logic  with a wee bit more trust in your intuition.

Be Prepared For The Mercury Retrograde

Why do I keep harping about balance?  I can attest to the ginormous good it will do you to have some balance.  You really do not want to run enthusiastically into an opportunity to create a new beginning for yourself only to come face to face with the Mercury Retrograde from 6 February, completely unprepared.

Free Your Heart And Mind

Another thing that will help you create your new beginning with this New Moon,  is to not cling to the views and opinions of other people.  Go with the intellectual freedom that you seek.  Establish your own opinions and have the courage to express it.

Blessed New Moon, Happy Lunar New Year

Here’s wishing you a blessed New Moon and if like me, you are celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Horse on 31st January,  my hopes and wishes are that a year of abundance, good health and happiness will gallop towards you!

Happy New Year, Blessed New Moon

1st January 2014.  Happy New Year!  2014 is finally here.

Everyday, I would jot down my personal thoughts with a Card du Jour that I would pick for the day, as well as the numerological highlights for the day.  As I started writing, my thoughts spilt over several paragraphs because there were just so much information to cover.  So I had decided to jot these down within my blog.

There was the year numerology, the day numerology, the Tarot year card, and highlights about the New Year.  To complicate matters, the New Moon fell on New Year's Day!

So here are my personal perspectives for the year 2014 as well as my thoughts on this special day, 1 Janauary 2014, when the New Moon coincides with New Year's Day for the first time in 19 years.

My Perspectives on 2014

There is a strong 7 energy this year.  Numerologically 2014 is surrounded by 7 energy ( 2 + 0 +1 + 4 = 7).   It is a year when you are encouraged to think through issues, galvanize your thoughts with a proper evaluation of the pros and cons of your actions and not just react to these issues hastily.

It is also the year of the Horse in about 4 weeks time, which is the 7th animal in the Chinese zodiac.   Again, you are urged not to act impulsively or you might "gallop" in the wrong direction.

And this gets more fun.  The Tarot card that governs the year 2014 is the Chariot - the 7th card of the Major Arcana in a Tarot deck.   The Chariot is a card representing victory and success in achieving goals through sheer determination and focusedness.  The card urges you to strive for success not through aggression and manipulating but through self discipline and the courage to step up and assume responsibility.

7 corresponds with the Sahasrara chakra or the crown chakra, so mental, spiritual transformations and introspective views are expected.  You might feel more connected to your spirituality or be more spiritually aware.  Morals and values become more important to you.  There will be many opportunities for soul-searching and thinking or analyzing through a situation before dealing with it.   It is a year you might fall back on your spirituality or religion for comfort and support.  It is also a good year to pursue more knowledge and learn new skills.

New Moon On New Year's Day

Today, 1st January, is numerologically governed by 9. It is a New Year that promised new possibilities, new experiences and new challenges ahead. Incidentally, it is also the first New Moon that coincides with the New Year in 19 years. So if you want to ready yourself to step into a new work day after the New Year holidays tomorrow, you are encouraged to make an effort today, to let go of all the negativity that is unnecessarily burdening your heart and mind.

With the New Moon in Capricorn appearing on New Year's Day, it is a good time to ask yourself -  Would you want to be bold, take a risk and gamely embrace new experiences and new beginnings, or would you rather stick to your comfort zone?  Would you allow power and  ambitions to drive you or would it be best to stay grounded and practical?

When I wished my friends and family today, I told them that my theme for the year will be BALANCE.  I hope to balance my priorities, balance my needs with the needs of others, balance my lofty ideals with reality and balance my ambitions with my need to stay grounded.

What's your theme?

“It’s not about 'what can I accomplish?' but 'what do I want to accomplish?' Paradigm shift.” – Brene Brown
