Starting Anew In 2017

A Slight Delay

This blog post had been long overdue.  I was meant to write a piece in preparation for the New Year but the inner child in me stomped her feet in disapproval whilst crossing her arms and insisted that I put my pen and paper down so that I could fully enjoy the sights of Hanoi where I spent my year-end holidays.  That was the best decision I had made as Hanoi had been almost a spiritual adventure of sorts.

Well rested, and fully charged for the new year, I am now ready to bring you my perspectives about what 2017 will bring.

So do forgive me for writing this post, a week into the New Year when most of you are possibly raring to go and on the way to manifesting great things in 2017.

A Recap of 2016

At the cusp of the new year, my social media feeds were filled with comments about how challenging the year 2016 was.  Many were managing difficult issues like  crumbling relationships, ill health,  surgery, bereavement, yes celebrity deaths included, retrenchments and volatility in the office environment.

Followers of my blog will remember this post that I wrote here.

Here is a recap of what I had written about my expectations for 2016.

“2016 is governed numerologically by the number 9.  With 9 being the final number in the 9-year cycle in numerology, the number represents a culmination of all your hard work put into attaining your goals, your experiences and skills cultivated throughout all these years, the lessons you had picked up along the way, the knowledge gained, and the wisdom attained.

Whatever you had worked hard to achieve, and all the loose ends of any long-drawn project that you had been working on will need to be completed in this year.  Everything that you needed to do on your priority list, must be done.

Being a year of completion, it is the year you let go of whatever does not serve your higher purpose. If you had been in toxic relationships or unhappy jobs hanging on a thread for so long, this is the year to let go and start anew.   Don't expect it to be easy though because as you make that final push through the journey in anticipation of a numerological year 1 in 2017, you can expect to experience some stress, tension and conflict.  If you struggle to let go of what does not serve you, it could be a painful year filled with anxieties.  You might feel some exhaustion and perhaps be unfocused. That is why you are encouraged to keep an open mind and heart in 2016, and just be focused on healing, forgiveness,  re-energising and renewing yourself through contemplation and meditation.  Self care is so important, so remember to honour your energies and ensure that you take time out to care for yourself and keep a happy harmonious balance between the time and energy you invest in others and the time and energy you invest in yourself.

The numerological energy of a year 9 encourages you to "spring clean" your work space, your home, your Facebook Friend list, and even yourself. This is not the year to harbour any residual emotional resentment against those who had done you wrong in the past. Empty your heart off grudges and keep it clean from hurt, disappointments and unfulfilled expectations.  De-cluttering will help pave the way for  you to accept new experiences in the following year.”

Did this resonate with you?

What Is In Store For 2017

2017 is generally governed by the numerological energy of the number 1.  1 promises a new beginning filled with possibilities.  It is a year where you can make a brand new start, once you have let go off the residual emotional negativity from 2016.  You are encouraged to wipe your slate clean, take on new perspectives, and believe in your personal power enough to embrace this new year, filled with  new adventures.  1 spells opportunities that you create. Do not wait for things to happen.  This is the year you will plant the seeds to manifesting the goals that you have been dreaming of.   With the skills and knowledge honed from the challenges of last year, you are definitely well-equipped to shape that vision for your own success.

I love the phrase “Your Own Success”.  It has a ring of independence and self-reliance to it.  That again, leverages the numerological influence of the number 1.  2017 will provide you with the opportunities to shape your own destiny on your own terms.  You will start to take accountability for your own future, knowing that only you can influence your own desired outcomes, based on the choices you make.

The number 1 energy will imbibe a flicker of ambition within you to spark your attempts to turn your vision into an action plan this year.  Having stepped out of a challenging year, you are now ready to take control and be in that driver’s seat as you navigate your journey throughout 2017.

You will be ready to take on new challenges this year.  So remember, whatever you had undergone in 2016, must be left in 2016.  All the memories of the hurts, disappointments, fears, anger, and tears incurred in 2016, must not have a role in your new journey in 2017.  Let the negativity go and start walking forward with a positive mindset.

The Fool In Tarot

I liken the year 2017 to the Fool card in Tarot.  The Fool is a manifestation of unlimited potential, just on a cusp of a new journey, raring to go, and filled with so much courage to take on new adventures, with full trust in the Universe that he will be guided throughout his journey through a winding path.  He is ready to learn new skills, gain knowledge, and embrace new experiences that will contribute to his growth and development.  That is the mindset that you need to have, to take on 2017.

The Magician In Tarot

While the Fool kick starts that journey in Tarot, the Magician is numbered as 1 in a Tarot deck. The Magician represents the ability and the will to manifest your goals by welding your personal power, your boundless energy and your creativity.  The Magician is an affirmation of your ability to put all odds aside to create a new life cycle for yourself that is full of potential.   He is filled with so much optimism and hopes.  He is confident, and full of courage and a Never Say Die attitude.  He is willing to try new things, take risks, and step out of that comfort zone.

So in 2017, the Fool and the Magician are 2 Tarot cards that you should meditate on when you have any doubts about what the new year will bring.

Your Personal Year

While the year 2017 in general is governed by the numerological influence of number 1, each of you do have a personal year number that you need to be aware of to better navigate the new year.  To calculate your personal year, add your birth day, to your birth month, to this year.

So if your birth day is 21st February, the way to calculate your personal year would be:

2+1 +2 +2+0+1+7 = 15

Then add 1 and 5 to reduce it to a single number, and this will give you 6.  Your personal year is 6 if you are born on 21st February.

Incidentally, if you were born on 21st February, your Tarot year cards would be The Devil ( the number 15 card in a Tarot deck) and The Lovers ( the number 6 card in a Tarot deck).  There would be so much tips and advice that could be provided just through your personal year number and these Tarot year cards.  The one key takeaway I would offer those born on 21 February would be that, you do have a choice to let go of past negativity as you look to serving others in 2017.

Oh I love combining numerology and Tarot in my readings.

Understanding the numerological traits of your personal year and overlaying it with the numerological traits of the year 2017, as well as the interpretation of your Tarot year card will support your goals better as it would bring so much robust advice about the different learnings, experiences, lessons and purpose that they serve you this year.

My contact details are below this blog post should you wish to get a comprehensive reading which includes an understanding of the impact of your personal year and your Tarot year card, and how they can support your goals better this year.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Busting Some Tarot Myths

Myth #1:
You need to be a psychic clairvoyant to be a good Tarot reader.

Reality:
Wrong.  There are so many great Tarot readers who are not clairvoyants.  You just need to have a heart of compassion and be attuned to your intuition.  Anyone can learn to read the cards.  The knowledge is opened to those who are curious, who love to explore and learn new things all the time, who are not afraid to  take on life’s adventures along with the Fool on his journey and who embrace the compassionate quest of using the cards to help and guide others.

Myth #2 :
Tarot cards are evil things that come in between you and God’s will.  By reading Tarot for others, you would be influencing the querant’s actions and hinder what has been pre-destined.

Reality:
Wrong.   You are the master of your own destiny.  The cards can only be a guide to help you make the right choices for the highest good.  Where free will comes in, is when the querant has that free will to make that choice he or she deems will influence the right outcome  That is why I am adamant about doing a Tarot reading in a positive way, that is advice-centric and clear on purpose.    A tarot reader should not tell a querant what to do, what choices to make, or which direction to take.  Life is full of options and a Tarot reader’s role is to use the cards to provide options, like a friend, offering a friendly advice to help the querant along his or her journey.

Myth #3:
Tarot readers need to be wearing long flowing skirts, dressed like gypsies and have a zen-like composure

Reality:
Wrong.  A tarot-reader should be true to him or herself.  It does not matter what you wear and how you look.  You don’t have to keep a zen-like composure all the time.  Just be yourself and you might earn better trust from your clients by being REAL. I am loud,  very direct  and will not mince my words. I am also a boxer who just happens to be a Tarot reader.  It does not make me a bad Tarot reader.  It just makes me different.  I don’t have a crystal ball, a headscarf and all the trappings of a “fortune-teller” at the fair ground.  But I am comfortable in my boxing gear of shorts and T-shirt and still read Tarot with plenty of compassion.  So far, I haven’t had any complaints.

Myth #4:
Reading Tarot is un-Christian and defies God’s will.

Reality:
Wrong.  Doing and saying things which serves only  yourself at the expense of the highest good, is un-Christian and defies God’s will.  A clear purpose of using your intuitive gifts and talent to help others, is not.

Myth # 5:
Because Tarot readers violate God’s will by influencing the actions of their querants, most Tarot readers die young, lead unbalanced lives and meet with tragic circumstances.

Reality:
Wrong.  Along with many of my Tarot reading friends in the international community, I am blessed with so much abundance and a zest for life.  If I die young, and I am not young, by the way, that’s okay, because I have lived my life to the fullest, loving every day, and being loved every day.  So this is DEFINITELY a myth and laughable at that.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Try Not To Piss Off Your Tarot Reader

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

This week, I thought to turn the tables and use this blogpost for Tarot Tip Tuesdays as a resource for advice to clients seeking a meaningful reading from a professional Tarot reader.

Sometimes, I might meet clients who had visited me for the first time and have never obtained a Tarot reading before.  The smart ones would be upfront with me about the fact that they were "Tarot reading virgins" and would openly and honestly ask for advise on what type of questions they could ask and how should they ask these questions.  I loved such 2-way engagement with these clients and they always leave my table feeling happy, empowered and less stressed.

Conversely, I have also met clients who turned our Tarot reading session into a complete disaster either due to their prejudice, misguided expectations or obnoxious behaviour   Tips for Tarot readers who  had been through such experiences could be found here.

Today, my Tarot Tips for this Tuesday are meant for clients intending to seek a meaningful reading from a professional Tarot reader:

1) Have an open and honest conversation with your Tarot reader about your expectations from the reading and what outcomes you hope to derive out of the reading. Be clear with the details of the background and other necessary information that could help your reader connect with your situation.

2) Always ask your questions in a clear and focused manner.  If you are not sure how to ask a focused question, your reader should help you to frame these questions in a way that will help the cards provide a clear and focused advice.

3) Be realistic about your expectations of a Tarot reading.  Tarot cards are not meant to predict the future.  They are meant to guide you and provide you advice with which you can use to make the right decisions to effect your desired outcomes.

4) Be respectful to both your Tarot reader and the Tarot cards.  Do not throw your tantrums at the reader just because you did not like what you hear.  Do not rant about your reader by calling him or her a charlatan or a quack and definitely, do not throw the cards callously on the table in frustration.

5) Do not take your husband, wife or partner to a Tarot reading, and ask awkward questions while pointing an accusatory finger at him or her about any misdemeanor, imaginary or otherwise.

6)  Ensure that you keep within the boundaries of the Tarot reader's code of ethics when you ask your questions.  If you are not sure what these codes are, do ask your reader.  Some Tarot readers will not read on subject matters related to health for example, so establish that boundary upfront and respect it.

7) I know it is nice to have moral support from a friend or friends when you arrive at your reading hoping to get advice on a relationship issue for example.  However, please respect that the space between your reader, the Tarot cards and you is sacred, so you might want to refrain from having a group of friends whooping and cheering on from behind you while you are having your reading.

8)  It is flattering when you find your Tarot reader quite super but please do not attempt to flirt with your reader or ask him or her out on a date.  Keep the relationship strictly professional.

9)  Do not arrive at your reading reeking of alcohol.  You would like your Tarot reader to provide advice with as much clarity as possible so you had better be sober enough to ask clear and focused questions.

10) A Tarot reading requires a lot of energy and effort put in by your Tarot reader. Paying him or her for the session is a rightful exchange of energy so please do not threaten not to pay for the session just because you did not like what you have heard.

I hope these tips ensure that your Tarot reading session is a meaningful one.  So, try not to piss your reader off if you want the session to help you steer your decisions towards the right outcome.

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Numbers In Tarot

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

So here goes your Tarot Tip for this Tuesday:

Every morning, I would post the numerological summary of that particular day up in my Sun Goddess Tarot Facebook page.  Today, I did the same and the following was my numerological summary for the day.

"24 June 2014. Today is numerologically governed by 1.  Pat yourself on the back for the hard work in navigating those obstacles yesterday.  Today, you will steel yourself with the resolve to  make a fresh start.  You will take on a new perspective on what had gone wrong yesterday.  You would want to look at turning yesterday's challenges into tomorrow's opportunities and literally seize the day with that conviction to re-chart your goals in the right direction and on your terms.  This is the day you will learn something new about yourself and about the people around you."

I began to think about all the Number 1 cards in Tarot across the Tarot suits. Numerologically 1 is about new beginnings and a fresh start.  The Aces of all the suits are no different.

The Ace of Pentacles heralds new opportunities, a new job offer, the manifestation of a goal. The  Ace of Wands represents new inspiration, new creative idea, a new business venture.  The Ace of Cups brings on the beginning of a romance, new love, start of new emotional connectivity,  the beginning of creative expression, and sometimes an indication of birth or pregnancy.  The Ace of Swords promises a break-through in a situation, assures one of a new direction, and points to mental clarity with which you can start to move forward with your goals.

Even in the Major Arcana, the Magician is the number 1 card and indeed harnesses the energies of 1 in numerology.  It is a card that sees one with the ability to move forward or manifest a goal because of his skills, creativity and determination.  All 4 suits appear in the Magician card almost as if to encourage you to harness the elemental power of the Aces of each suit.

Even the Fool, though technically the number 0 card in the Major Arcana is really the card that kickstarts the entire Tarot journey and it symbolizes new beginnings. 0 though in numerology is a number of infinity, an enhancer and symbolizes potential. As my favourite card, I like to think of it that without this number 0 card or the Fool, the number 1 or the Magician could never exist.

When you do Tarot readings, do pay special attention to the number of the card and draw the connection between the card and the vibrational energy of the number.  Tomorrow 25 June 2014 is governed by number 2 in Numerology (2+5+6+2+01+4 = 2+0 =2).  Think about the 2 of each of the Tarot suits and connect it with the characteristics of 2 in numerology. 2 is about balance, connectedness, vision, tactfulness, diplomacy, support.  How do they relate to the 2 of Pentacles, 2 of Wands, 2 of Cups and 2 of Swords. Indeed, relate it also to the number 2 card in the Major Arcana, the High Priestess. The High Priestess is personified by the ancient mythological story of Persophone who led a life that balanced that between darkness and light.  She represented vision, truth and insight of the external world drawn from deep within one's inner wisdom and knowledge.  Do read my blog post about the Tarot Twos.

That is why I enjoy combining Tarot with  Numerology and there are so many different ways to do so.  It's just so much more fun, isn't it?

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Learn To Say No

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

So here goes your Tarot Tip for this Tuesday:

If you are a newbie to Tarot reading, you would find yourself always on a lookout for  opportunities to practice your reading on friends and family.  You might even consider volunteering to be a free reader for credible Tarot-related sites and organizations like Biddy Tarot, Tarot Association Of The British Isles (TABI) and the Free Tarot Network. You might even be willing to provide a mini reading or 2 when randomly asked by strangers.  Just be warned though that you might open yourself to a floodgate of recurring querants who might be totally dependent on the advice that your readings provide.  You might also be faced with a huge volume of reading requests which you might not have the capacity to cope with.  So here are some tips to help you say no when you are not able to cope with excessive amounts of Tarot reading requests.

Learn To Say No

  • When you feel exhausted or not grounded enough to take on more readings, please have the courage to say no.  Tell them to contact you at a later date scheduled in a way which gives you enough time to ground yourself or have a good rest.

  • If the querant calls you incessantly for readings, even when you have already provided him or her with the advice that he or she needs, then do let him or her know that the best time to come back for a reading might be a month later.

  • If you are not able to take on anymore readings at that specific time, do direct your querants to other free Tarot reading services available at some of the reputable sites and organizations I had mentioned earlier.

  • Explain to your querant that you need time to recharge after completing a list of readings.  This would only make you a better reader, ready to take on your querant’s issues once you have regained your energy.

  • You might want to set your boundaries upfront.  Let your clients know what objectives you serve when you provide a reading and how soon later he or she could call you again for another follow-up reading.

  • Sometimes, it could be very encouraging when a querant tells you that your last reading for him or her had been spot on.and this might be used as a lead-in to garner more free readings from you within a short time frame.  Yes, it is a confidence-booster but remember, the reading is not about you.  It is all about the querant.  To serve the querant better, you will need to assess if you are ready or if the timing is right for you to provide her with more readings following his or her last one.

Remember, you have the free will to say no when you feel that you are getting too many reading requests.  Self care is so important so you will need to meditate and ground yourself regularly. Take breaks in between readings so that you can recharge yourself.  By the way, I had also made the decision once to say no to a client who requested for another free reading just because previously, he was rude, obnoxious, and had no decency to even say thank you after I had delivered that reading to him.  Yes, I have free will.  If I think the querant’s energy is toxic and not worth my time, I would definitely stick to my guns and say no if you are not ready  or not comfortable about doing a reading for someone.

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - No Excuses For Lack Of Practice

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

So here goes your Tarot Tip for this Tuesday:

You could invest a lot of money and time in picking up tons of esoteric knowledge but ultimately, the litmus test for your ability to read confidently is just practice.  Lots of practice. One of the complaints I often got from Tarot students was that they have not got enough friends to practice Tarot reading wth, so here are ideas for you to create more practice opportunities for yourself beyond reading for family and friends.

Reading For Self
Of course there are just so many issues you could have in a day to spur you to pick your deck up to gift it a good shuffle.  However, beyond doing Tarot reading to obtain advice when you face a specific challenge, you could also shuffle the Tarot cards each morning to obtain a generic advice that could help you navigate your day ahead at the office.  Perhaps you might want to pick a Tarot card of the day  to guide your day in the morning and then when you are just about to prepare to get to bed, do a review of your day and write into your journal, what significance that specific card might have had for what you had experienced that day.  Something I often like to do myself, is to pick a card each weekend to what might be my biggest obstacle I could face in the coming week that could prevent me from getting to my goals.  Then I would cast a spread to uncover how I could manage that obstacle.  A particular spread could go like that:
1) What could I do for myself to deal with that obstacle?
2)  What external help or resource would I require to deal with that obstacle?
3) What might the outcome be when I deploy all means to deal with that obstacle?
4) If I cannot effect the outcome in the way I desire it to be, what advice can the cards provide for me to move forward?

Reading For Others

Another good source of practice beyond your family, friends and even yourself, is to volunteer as a reader for others.  There are several ways you can do this:

1) Approach a charity organization to offer your services as a volunteer Tarot reader for any of its fund-raising events it might have throughout the year. It could be quite useful if that charity organization is aware that it could call on you  whenever they organize a charity fair or bazaar for example,

2) TABI (The Tarot Associstion Of the British Isles),  FTN (the Free Tarot Network) and Biddy Tarot are often looking for volunteer Tarot readers  to read for free on their respective forum or website.  Being a volunteer reader is quite fun but the reading requests could get voluminous so you are advised to pace yourself, and do a lot of self care.

3) Another fun way you could get some practice time is to read for high-profile situations that you might come across in the news.  This could be news about a celebrity break-up, an economic debate, a governmental election, or news about a missing person.  I do caution you to do readings like these only as a form of practice and in private as I am a firm believer of doing a reading only with the expressed permission of another person that you are reading for.

There are numerous ways to pack in more practice opportunities to hone your Tarot reading skills.  Now all you need is to commit to spending some time to do so everyday.

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Do Not Let Differences In Opinions Intimidate You

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

So here goes your Tarot Tip for this Tuesday:

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post for Tarot Tip Tuesdays which touched on the topic of skepticism. In that post, I had asked that should you be faced with skepticism, either from someone else or your own, do not allow it to affect your confidence. You could be putting your energy to better use by tuning out skepticism and tuning into your intuition.

Now what is worse than managing skepticism is managing your own feelings of feeling intimidated. Yes that is right.  Nothing and nobody should intimidate you when you are in the throes of learning Tarot and discovering more about the cards, unless you had given him or her permission to do so. So, please don't allow that to happen, no matter how new you are to Tarot.

When I was at the beginning of my Tarot journey, I had decided to obtain my certifications then through the Tarot Certification Board of America.  It was, at that time a personal choice to get certified because it contributed to my growth as a Tarot reader.  I enjoyed the process, and I did learn a lot from the examiner assigned to me.   When I discussed my positive experience with the board within an online forum, a fellow Tarot professional responded, " Why would you need to get certified? Certifications are silly and cannot compare with the numerous years of experience I have under my belt."  I thanked her for her opinions and told her that  I respected her years of experience and I was sure she was truly super as a Tarot reader, but her opinions about the certifications were just that...her personal opinions.

It reminded me of a time when I cooked beef bourginion for some friends and was told by my French friend that "We French people will not cook beef bourginion in that way." Fabulous! So I had decided to ask her for her recipe, and gamely asked for an invitation to her place for dinner some day too.

The point I am making is that just as everyone's life experiences are each different and unique, there are so many different styles and techniques Tarot readers use in their reading. The rich fabric of experiences, skills and knowledge within the Tarot community is so useful to both newbies as well as experienced Tarot readers.

However, wherever you go and whatever you do, you will meet someone who is equally, if not more passionate than you are about Tarot and he or she will be dying to put across an opinion about how right or wrong you are with your reading style, your techniques or your interpretations and what is "THE PROPER" way to do it just because he or she has gazillions of years of experience under his or her belt.   Accept that gift of knowledge and take it as a learning. Do not get intimidated by it.  It is okay to allow room for open discussions that serve to help, without the need to impose an opinion on someone else, no matter how experienced or skilled or knowledgeable one may be in any given subject.

This brings me to the 5 of Wands card.  The 5 of Wands is a card depicting a situation of conflict, tension, difference of opinions and challenges. While many people might view the card as a negative one, I see it as an opportunity to turn differences in opinions into constructive discussions that can effect truly positive outcomes.

So go ahead and create room for open discussions, exchange of ideas and brainstorming.  Accept differing opinions with an open mind but do not get intimidated by those who impose an opinion on you.  It is your journey with your cards and only you are responsible for making that journey a fulfilling one for yourself.

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.

Tarot Tip Tuesdays - Open And Honest Communication Is Necessary

Whether you are new to Tarot and in the throes of building a connection with your Tarot cards or an advanced Tarot reader diligently honing your Tarot reading skills, I am putting out a Tarot tip a week to help you to consistently make Tarot a part of your everyday life.

So here goes your Tarot Tip for this Tuesday:

I thought this topic would be an appropriate tip for the week because it happened to me just a couple of days ago.  I could kick myself sometimes and this just goes to show that even experienced Tarot readers do sometimes forget.

My regular clients are very familiar with my reading style of combining Tarot, Numerology and Astrology.  Even new clients who engage me for a reading for the very first time, often are happy with my style of reading. I guess, these modalities are quite common and clients are generally comfortable with these. I would usually preface the reading anyhow by explaining my code of ethics and I would also explain how I would combine these modalities to create depth of advice to support my client's decisions.

So far, this had been happening swimmingly with great success and the readings would invariably involve a 2-way opened communication between the client and myself.  After a reading, I would know as much about my client as he or she would know about me.

However a few days ago, this did not happen as planned.  Yes I did open the reading in the usual way of prefacing it with my code of ethics and my reading style, but I forgot to explain that I added another dimension to the reading by channeling for her before she arrived for the appointment.  I had been doing this quite often in my readings these days as I have been developing my clairvoyant and clairsentient skills lately.

My client was clearly uncomfortable as she did not understand what channeling meant.  In her mind, I was talking to unknown entities in a realm she could not comprehend and she was completely freaked out by that. Part of her discomfort had to do with the fact that she erroneously thought it had violated her religious beliefs.  The "clairs" were big words for her and she told me flatly that she just wanted a simple Tarot reading and had not expected "the works".

Of course we both left the table quite unhappy after the reading.  I turned the whole situation inside out within my mind all night and came to a conclusion that I should have been even more opened in my communication with her.  I should not have taken for granted that she understood what channeling meant.  I should not have taken for granted that she would be okay with it if I had not asked for her permission to do so before she arrived at our appointment.

Lesson learnt.  An open and honest communication is necessary between reader and querant.  Do not take for granted that he or she understands your reading style.  Always ask for permission to be part of your querant's journey to find a solution for his or her issues.

May your Tarot cards provide you with a full deck of possibilities throughout your day.
